I just did this, based mainly on rewatchability, with an additional factor to account for 'cultural impact', to reward episodes that were innovative or introduced iconic expressions or concepts, and penalize episodes that coasted on worn-out tropes. It’s a good thing the show wasn’t dead on arrival, because it went on to become the best show in television history. It’s honestly amazing Seinfeld ever made it past this season considering how bad it is. Nothing else quite comes close as far as this season is concerned.

Season 2: There is one fantastic episode this season: The Chinese Restaurant.

The Limo and The Boyfriend are 2 of the best episodes in the show’s history.

Season 3: The show really improved a lot with season 3.

The Fusilli Jerry is a top 10 episode, but I don’t think any other episode here cracks my top 10.

Season 6: This season is good, but for whatever reason I just don’t think it’s very memorable.

Larry David was long gone but the show was still funny to the very end.

Season 9: Unlike a lot of people, I still think this season is great, despite the turn towards outlandish, surreal humor in a lot of episodes.

Ultimately the good easily outweighs the bad, and this season is great. Season 4: Some of the show’s highest peaks, but also some of the weakest episodes.Season 8: A bit more surreal, but overall a very consistent and fantastic season.A bit more grounded than season 7, and maybe has a couple more weak episodes. Perfect mix between the classic, “show about nothing” style and the more absurd later seasons. Not bad but noticeably weaker than other seasons. It does contain some great episodes though like The Chinese Restaurant.ĩ) Season 1, This is when the show was at its most bland. Contains great episodes such as The Little Kicks and The Bizarro Jerry.ĥ) Season 6, Very consistent season, although maybe slightly more forgettable than others.Ħ) Season 9, This season is more wacky than earlier ones, which is good and bad, but still overall very strong and I’m glad the show went out on a high note.ħ) Season 3, For me this is where the show really started picking up steam, it had great episodes such as The Limo, although had a few bad episodes like The Dog.Ĩ) Season 2, An improvement over season 1, but still has some of the same issues.
